Garlic Bread

Ingredients
1 loaf of french bread (Safeway brand)
2 sticks of butter
10 cloves of garlic, minced
2 tsp Garlic powder/granuled garlic
Melt able cheese (cheddar, Gruyere, etc)

Directions

Melt the butter over medium heat, add the garlic, then set aside in the freezer for about 10 minutes to cool to a spreadable texture.

Meanwhile, slice the bread vertically nearly all the way through into 1/2" slices.

Add salt to the butter mixture and split into 2. In one add 2 tsp granulated garlic or garlic powder. Spread between the slices of the loaf. Add slices of cheese between the non garlic powder section for your cheese loving significant other. Wrap in foil. At this point, you can freeze it.

Preheat the oven to 350. Bake for 15 minutes covered in foil (or 30 if frozen), then uncover and bike for 5 minutes more.

Notes: yummy! The outside is crispy crunchy without getting hard and the inside is soft. It took around 30 min for the center of the bread to melt from frozen (poke it with a knife to see if it's stil frozen). I tried browning the butter but I don't think it made a difference. J likes the cheese between the slices, but not too much garlic (leave out garlic powder for him) I think the cheese tastes pretty good, but I like it just plain garlic bread.
